Here is what actually happens to a picture of your kid once it is public.
It gets copied, not just seen.
Public photos are collected in bulk and swept into training sets and face-matching databases. You can delete your post tomorrow. You cannot delete the copies it already made.
A face is the one password they can never change.
They can switch schools, change their name, and reset every password they will ever have. Their face stays the same for life, and it is the thread that ties every image of them together.
The photo also says where you were.
Most photos carry a hidden GPS tag with the exact spot they were taken. Often that is your street, their school, or the park you go to every Saturday morning.

Faces are found and blurred the moment your photo loads. Safe is the default, so there is nothing to remember to switch on.

Tap any face to uncover it. Keep your kid clear and blur everyone else, or cover them all. Then save or share it like any other photo.
Built to be trusted
The safest place for your kid's photo is the phone it is already on.
So that is the only place Safe Faces ever touches it.
There is no server, so there is nothing to breach.
Detection, blurring, and exporting all happen on your device, using its own chip. Your photos are never uploaded, never queued, and never sitting on someone else's hardware. There is no account to create and no cloud to trust.
It strips the location data too.
GPS coordinates, device details, and timestamps are removed from every photo and video you export. The picture leaves with the moment in it and nothing else attached.
It would rather fail than let one frame slip.
Before a video finishes exporting, every frame is checked for uncovered faces. If even part of one is exposed, the export stops and tells you, instead of quietly handing you a file that leaks.
No ads, no tracking, no third-party code.

Do you ever see my photos?
No. There is no server to send them to. Everything happens on your device, and nothing is uploaded anywhere, including to us.
Does it work on video, or only photos?
Both. In video, faces are tracked through the entire clip rather than just the opening frame, and the finished video exports with a mosaic over each face you chose to cover.
What if it misses a face?
You can tap anywhere to add a blur by hand, and a video will refuse to export at all if it finds a face left uncovered. If you do ever spot a miss, that is exactly the kind of thing we want to hear about during the beta.
Will it wreck the quality of my photo?
No. Photos export at high quality and video exports at the highest quality setting available. The only part of the image that changes is the faces you picked.
Is it free?
Yes, free for the whole beta. No card, no trial countdown.
What do I need to try it?
An iPhone or iPad running iOS 18.5 or later, plus TestFlight, which is Apple's official app for trying software before it reaches the App Store.
What is the catch?
You are an early tester, so you will run into rough edges. Telling us where it breaks is the entire point, and it is the fastest way to make this solid for everyone else.
